In which the perceived loss of the horizon and need to fill every space with productive human use. I have worked intensely with colour relations and pigment densities both loaded pallet and layers of washes creating almost a veil painting to achieve the pieces. Both beauty and architectural grids are integrated into the work. Movement across the landscape is integral in the work set with acupuncture hot points of characters or objects in the landscape. I believe these paintings to bridge the gap between abstraction and landscape, both feet planted firmly on either side.
